We're committed to reserve 6 spaces for faeries who identify as being from a gender minority or the global majority.
The radical faeries has been doing the work in the recent years of becoming a community of a radical openness and inclusivity as well, not only honouring diversity but actively pursuing it. This is towards a goal of decentering the historically culturally dominant groups within our community, which has been primarily of white, cis gay males.
In line with this intention, we'd like to explicitly welcome and encourage participation by faeries who are:
(This warm welcome extends to every aspect of co-creating our spaces and activities within the Albion Faeries, recognising it’s invaluable and essential to have your participation during organising as well. Glad to say our gathering is also partly trans- and poc-organised).
Practically, this would mean that as registration opens, these places will be kept available so in case we'll reach capacity, you should still be able to claim one of them. You'll have the opportunity to do this on the registration form by self definition, without needing to prove you're of these groups. We'd like to ask you to please still register early if you’re able, so we can better plan ahead. Our preliminary survey of interest shows we'd likely reach capacity quickly, and shortly before the start of the gathering, we might still fill up all remaining spaces.
At our gathering, we're extending our radical inclusivity to class as well, and with that we’d also like to welcome low income faeries from the north. As these are less definable categories, organisers will consider this when allocating places as a priority.
